2020 has a vision!!!!
The first meeting for the Class of 2020 was held on Thursday, February 23rd. Thirteen parents attended the informational meeting. We started gathering parent contact information to form a parent data base for mass emails, shared website and Facebook information, and discussed what Operation Graduation is all about. We also discussed holding one fundraiser each semester for the next three years. These fundraisers would help augment the $1,000 seed money we have in our savings account, which was gifted to us by the Class of 2016. The main part of our discussion was centered around how to unify our students to be excited about and 'mentally' bought-in to their own Operation Graduation celebration, so that they are motivated to help with the planning and fundraising. We are working on ideas to spread the word to the kids through social media outlets. Stay connected to this site and our Facebook page for all those important links.
Volunteers Step Up!
Operation Graduation is a monumental event which requires many hours of hard work and dedication by many individuals. Yes, we ask the students to work for their celebration, but this project cannot be successful without extremely dedicated parents. There are many positions on the OpGrad 2020 committee that need to be filled as we move forward, but we already have had several parents step up and volunteer for key roles that needed to be filled early in the process so we can make things happen NOW! Currently seated on our committee are:
Treasurer - Alicia Brown
Solicitations/Donations - Meaghan Bircher
Gifts/Prizes - Kelly Faulk & Christa Martin
Entertainment - Janelle Moburg
Security - Scott & Debbie Meyer
Senior Wear - Tasha Dawson
We Need You!!!
OpGrad 2020 still needs your help! We will hold our first fundraiser on April 12th. We still need a Fundraising Coordinator and a Volunteer Coordinator! We are also looking for a Secretary to keep this page and the Facebook page updated, and also to start compiling the parent data base mailing list. A complete list of open committee chair positions is below and job descriptions are available upon request. And remember, if you can't be a chairman but would like to help, WE STILL NEED YOU!!! Especially when we begin senior year (which will be here before you know it!!), it will be all hands on deck! We hope to see lots of parents sharing in the excitement that is Operation Graduation!
